This compact growing barberry forms a mound and has reddish purple foliage. The leaves feature a very thin golden margin which is why it is named Golden Ring. Tiny, bell-shaped, pale yellow flowers form along the reddish purple stems. In fall the flowers produce little glossy red berries that last into the winter and attract birds.
