This small evergreen shrub has intricate leaves that are lacy, almost fern-like. New foliage emerges reddish and during the fall the leaves turn brilliant shades of orange, bronze, or purplish red. Late spring brings on pinkish-white flowers that form in clusters at the ends of the branches.
